Islamabad:The The International Monitory Fund (IMF) mission will start meeting Pakistani officials from Monday discussions on the budget for the financial year 2025 -2026.
Sources of the finance ministry said that the aim of the IMF mission visit is to get the monitory body technical assistance for enhancement of reforms capabilities.
The delegation discussions will focus on strengthening governance and addressing corruption issues.
Sources said that the IMF team will review budget proposals for the fiscal year 2025-26 and engage in follow-up negotiations regarding technical support for governance issues.
The delegation will also discuss measures to improve tax revenue, control government expenditure, and finalize proposals for the upcoming budget with Ministry of Finance officials.
The federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 is expected to be presented in the National Assembly (NA) during the first week of June.
The delegation will also call on officials of the finance ministry to finalize the upcoming budget of the 2025-2026.
Earlier, the International Monitory Fund (IMF) delegation reached the country on Friday, today to discuss governance and holding talks on the upcoming budget of the financial year 2025 to 2026.
