IMF demands submission of latest report over govt-run enterprises losses in talks with Pakistan

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) review mission visiting Pakistan has called the current year first quarterly latest report over the losses of government enterprises.

Sources in the finance ministry apprised that Pakistan has sought time till December for submission of the report.

The international lender has demanded Pakistan to provide the latest first quarterly report of current year losses of the government entities instead of providing facts and figures.

The IMF review mission during the talks with Pakistan has also inspected a central monitoring unit (CMU) team formed for estimation of losses of the government-run businesses.

The international donor has demanded the (CMU) team to provide its first review report.

Sources of the finance ministry said that the losses of the government businesses new facts and figures are being checked which will be completed soon.

The finance ministry will present report for the government-run businesses losses in the next month, December.

For the purpose Pakistan has sought time till December for presentation of the report.

The first phase of talks between the IMF and government over economic review will continue till November 10 wherein a review on the matters of different ministries and divisions will be conducted.
