IMF mission meets FBR chairman and board members

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission headed by vice-president Martin Raiser on Monday met Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Amjad Zubair Tawana, at the FBR headquarter in Islamabad.

In the meet-up board members of the FBR also participated.

They discussed achieving the current financial year tax target plan in details while the IMF mission was given a detail briefing on measures bringing non-filers into the tax net.

The IMF mission also given briefing in details regarding prevention and curbing on smuggling. They also deliberated upon closure of SIMs, Trader friendly Scheme and salaries and pension.

They also talked about current financial year tax target and its mechanism.

Sources said that a briefing also given to the IMF mission over closure of SIMs of non-filers by the telecom sectors.

An issuance of trader friendly scheme and its progress till date were also briefed to the IMF mission, sources added.

Sources said that a briefing also given on non effective implementation on Track and trace scheme.

A briefing was also given on salaries, pensions and tax receiving from the industries.
