IMF’s major demand for pension scheme for in-service employees

Islamabad: The IMF has demanded to bring the serving employees into the contribution pension scheme.

According to Finance Ministry sources, the IMF has demanded that the serving employees be made part of the contribution pension scheme on the pattern of new recruits.

Sources said that at the request of the IMF, work is being done to include the service employees in the Ministry of Finance in the contributory pension scheme. No decision has been taken on this.

Still then, sugestion of retirement consider at the age of 55. If the retirement decision goes with the age of 55 years so the rule will be applied on Civil employees.

According to the sources, the Prime Minister did not get a positive response to fixing the retirement age of fifty-five years in the meeting.

The bureaucracy, on the other hand, is not keen on fixing the retirement age of fifty-five, sources said, and proposals to restore the more than a decade-freeze federal secretarial allowance are also under consideration.
