ISLAMABAD:  Islamabad administration on Friday formally put Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) chairman Imran Khan under house arrest at his Banigala residence.

A local magistrate Ali Javed tried to hand over the order to put Imran under house arrest at his Banigala residence. However, PTI workers did not allow the Magistrate to enter Banigala.

Imran Khan was scheduled to attend a AML public meeting at Rawalpindi’s Committee Chowk after Friday prayers.   However, the PTI chief was stopped to leave his Banigala residence and was formally put under house arrest.

When Islamabad Magistrate Javed Ali reached Banigala to handover the order to Imran Khan, enraged PTI workers did not allow him to enter Banigala. They said that the magistrate would not be allowed to enter the residence until the PTI’s arrested workers are not released.

On the occasion, Imran Khan’s legal advisor Own Chaudhry and other met the magistrate and received the order.  On the occasion, Javed Ali said that he had came to Banigala to inform Imran Khan about his house arrest.
