RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), clarified on Tuesday that his children will not be traveling to Pakistan to participate in the upcoming protests.
This statement comes in response to earlier reports suggesting that his sons, Qasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan, were planning to come to support efforts for his release from detention.
During a session at Adiala Jail, when asked whether his sons would join PTI’s scheduled demonstration on August 5, Khan replied, “No, they will not be coming.”
Despite earlier remarks from PTI leaders and Khan’s sister indicating that his children might take part in the rally, Khan’s recent comments confirm they will not be involved in the demonstration.
Aleema Khan previously mentioned the possibility of their arrival to help in the campaign for Khan’s freedom. Sources close to PTI had also indicated that his sons, who live abroad with their mother Jemima Goldsmith, might visit Pakistan to support the ongoing movement against Khan’s detention.Imran Khan has been held at Adiala Jail since August 2023, facing multiple legal proceedings related to various cases.
