RAWALPINDI: There are strong indications that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan may soon be moved out of Adiala Jail, ahead of the anticipated verdict in the Toshakhana-II case.
Sources close to the matter reveal that a dedicated detention facility has been established in the Qasim Market area of Rawalpindi, with all necessary legal and logistical preparations finalized. Reports also suggest that Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, might be shifted to this same secure location. A team of 40 prison personnel has been stationed there since July 31.
The management of this special detention area has been assigned to the Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (DSP), with personnel recruited from prisons in Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum. DIG Prisons for Rawalpindi, Rana Rauf, has officially issued directives concerning the staff transfers. Additionally, a comprehensive security and monitoring plan has been put into place, ensuring continuous supervision and control of the facility by a dedicated team around the clock.
