Imran Khan’s right eye successfully treated at PIMS, confirms medical report

ISLAMABAD: The official medical report confirms that Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, received successful treatment for his right eye at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

Following directives from the Prime Minister, the Executive Director of PIMS submitted a detailed health report to the authorities at Adiala Jail. The medical assessment indicates that Imran Khan’s overall health remains stable and satisfactory.

The report notes that Imran Khan had reported experiencing decreased vision in his right eye. In response, a senior ophthalmologist at PIMS conducted a thorough examination at the jail. The evaluation included slit lamp analysis, fundoscopy, intraocular pressure measurement, laboratory testing, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the retina.

Based on the diagnostic procedures, Imran Khan was diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion in his right eye. He was then transferred to PIMS late in the evening for specialized treatment, as recommended by medical professionals.

During the procedure, Imran Khan received an anti-VEGF intravitreal injection, performed under strict sterile conditions in the hospital’s operation theatre. The treatment lasted around 20 minutes and was completed without complications. The patient remained stable throughout the procedure and was discharged with instructions for routine post-treatment care and follow-up.

Sources have also confirmed that Imran Khan’s family has received a copy of the medical report.
