Imran Criticises PM for ‘Helping Nawaz Save ‘Ill-gotten Rs300bn’

Islamabad (November 2, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan has lashed out at Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbai for what he said showing complicity in helping ‘Nawaz Sharif save his ill-gotten, laundered Rs300 billion stashed abroad’ .

In multiple tweets here on Thursday  while reacting to Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country,  the PTI chief criticized the PML-N government for what he said glamorizing criminal financial corruption of Sharifs by giving protocol.

arising said that it was absolutely shameful how a discredited PM, facing a host of financial corruption charges, was given official protocol at taxpayer expenses.

 

Criticizing Prime Minister Abbasi Imran saisd that as to how can PM Abbasi sanction this protocol/Punjab House stay at taxpayer expenses for a man charged with corruption on multiple counts.

He alleged that Abbasi was showing complicity in helping NS to save what he said his ill-gotten, laundered Rs 300 billion stashed abroad as he faces accountability court.

He said that it was shocking how PML-N government by providing official protocol to Nawaz Sharif was glamourising criminal financial corruption by the Sharifs.

Earlier,  on Thursday morning former prime  mnister Nawaz Sharif reached Islamabad from UK in a Pakistan International Airlines flight. 

The PIA plane carrying the former Prime Minister and  others landed at Benazir Bhutto International Airport at 8:20 in the morning.

Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion at the airport.  Senior PML-N leaders Khwaja Saad Rafique, Amir Muqam and other received the PML-N chief upon his arrival at the airport.The former Prime Minister held short consultations with the PML-N leadership at the VIP Rawal Lounge.

Later, the former PM went to Punjab House, Islamabad in a convoy. The PM will stay in Punjab House today and will be appearing before the Islamabad accountability court hearing NAB references against him tomorrow.At the last hearing on October 26, the court had issued Nawaz’s bailable arrest warrants.

A number of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers and leaders were at the airport to greet the party president and former premier.

Earlier on Wednesday, Civil Aviation Authority rejected the NAB request to give them access to run way, when former Prime Minister’s plane arrives.

Sources said that CAA rejected the NAB request to get access to former Prime Minister’s plane at runway. CA has clearly told that no one can be given access to runway and NAB has to wait for former PM outside the airport.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had written a letter to the Islamabad airport’s security chief and manager seeking access to the flight on which deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif is returning to Pakistan on Thursday.

The Airport Security Force’s (ASF) chief security officer at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) manager was requested to provide the graft-buster’s officials access to flight PK-786.

NAB Additional Director (Staff) Muhammad Wasif Bhatti requested the authorities to allow the anti-graft watchdog’s officials and vehicles to use the airport premises and enter the plane.
