Imran’s Counsel Seeks Adjournment of Disqualification Case till Aug 15

Islamabad (July 10, 2017): Counsel of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has filed an application in Supreme Court pleading the court to adjourn the hearing of petition seeking disqualification of Imran Khan by August 15, 2017.

A  three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP), headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, is scheduled to hear a petition filed by PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi seeking Imran Khan’s disqualification tomorrow.

However, a day before the hearing of the petition PTI Chief counsel Anwar Mansoor Khan filed application seeking adjournment of the case for over a month.

Mansoor stated in the application that he was abroad and could not return before August 15, therefore hearing of the case be adjoined till August 15, 2017.’

The apex court has issued notices to all relevant parties in the case.

PML-N MNA Hanif Abbasi had filed the petition seeking Imran disqualification. He had said that Imran concealed his offshore company and did not declare it in his nomination paper.
