WEB DESK: United State of America continue strong support in collaborative projects and programs in various sectors to stabilize Pakistan in year 2023.
In 2023, the United States provided $215 million for flood victims, natural disaster relief and food availability in Pakistan, the establishment of Pak-America Green Alliance was an important step towards preventing and reducing the intensity of future floods
USAID Deputy Administrator visited flood affected areas, USD 30 million was provided in the health sector this year, USAID in partnership with HEC distributed more than 600 scholarships to flood-affected students, the milestone of construction of 100 schools was crossed under the Sindh Basic Education Program with the support of USAID.
By 2024, 80,000 students in Sindh will benefit from education under USAID’s Sindh Basic Education Program, In the year 2023, USAID launched a massive campaign with Shahid Afridi to highlight the importance of girl child education.In July, the US launched a project called ‘Recharge Pakistan’ through USAID.
The plan includes an investment of $77.8 million to increase climate resilience, the project aims to reduce flood risks and drought and promote economic development in key sectors, a number of important business partnership agreements were signed as part of USAID-sponsored Pak-US Diaspora conferences this year.
Grants were provided for Pakistan’s economic development through USAID’s Investment Promotion Activity, USAID will provide $445.6 million in grants under a five-year bilateral development assistance agreement with the government of Pakistan.
