In a first in Pakistan history Sindh govt holds auction of number plates, earns Rs 675.4 millions

Karachi: In a first in the history of Pakistan, Sindh government has auction number plates of vehicle.

The Sindh government excise department has earned Rs 6705.4 millions with the auction of 40 number plates.

Premium number one auctioned in Rs 100 million, Premium number five Rs 53 million, premium number seven Rs 46 million, premium number eight Rs 41 million and premium nine Rs 40 million.

Apprising the purpose of the auction, Sindh senior and Excise Minister Sharjeel Memon the amount earned from auction will be allocated for construction of houses for flood affected people.

The Senior Minister further apprised that as a whole 2,252 houses will be built for flood affected people from the funds.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh government is constantly striving for aiding flood affected people and reconstruction of their lives.

He apprised that soon second phase of premium number plates auction will be initiated.

He said that there is a hope of additional creation of resources from the next auction for aiding further the efforts of the reconstruction from the next auction.

He said that not only construction of new houses but even necessary restoration of infrastructure, medical aid and economic revival also included in the provincial government comprehensive point of view.
