In the country, there has been a further increase in the value of the American dollar against the Pakistani rupee, with income demand raising the exchange rate of the dollar by 1 rupee and 35 paisas.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, in the interbank exchange market, at the close of business today, the exchange rate of the dollar is 297 rupees and 13 paisas. Previously, it had closed at 295 rupees and 78 paisas in the interbank market.
According to sources in the interbank market, after the arrival of the caretaker government, the exchange rate of the dollar has increased by 8 rupees and 64 paisas so far.
On the other hand, as per information from Exchange Companies Association, in the open market, the exchange rate of the dollar is 304 rupees, an increase of 2 rupees. There are also reports of the dollar being sold for up to 306 rupees in the open market.
