DUBAI: India’s Under-19 team outclassed Pakistan by 90 runs in the fifth match of the Under-19 Asia Cup at the ICC Cricket Academy.
Set a target of 241, Pakistan were dismissed for 150 in 42 overs. Huzaifa Ahsan fought a lone battle with a solid 70-run knock, while skipper Farhan Yousaf managed 23. Usman Khan chipped in with 16, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to provide support, with no other batter reaching double figures.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Farhan Yousaf won the toss and chose to bowl. India posted 240 all out in 41.1 overs in a rain-affected contest that was shortened to 49 overs per side.
Aaron George starred for India with an impressive 85 runs, while Kanishk Chouhan added a valuable 46. Ayush Mhatre contributed 38 at the top, and Abhigyan Kundu scored 22. Other contributors included Vihaan Malhotra (12), Henil Patel (12), Vedant Trivedi (7), Khilan Patel (6), Vaibhav Suryavanshi (5), and Deepesh Devendran (1).
Pakistan’s bowling effort was led by Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan, who claimed three wickets each. Niqab Shafiq picked up two, while Ali Raza and Ahmed Hussain took one wicket apiece.
Rain earlier in the day delayed the toss, resulting in a reduced-overs match.
