India Outclass Windies by 22 Runs in 2nd T20 to Clinch Series

FLORIDA: India outclassed West Indies by 22 runs via DLS method in the 2nd T20 international to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series at Lauderhill in Florida.

Chasing 168 for victory, the players were taken off the field due to bad weather conditions and the impending threat of lightning with the Windies reaching 98 for 4 in 15.3 overs.

Dark clouds soon engulfed the stadium and rain shelved any chances of play after that with the hosts falling short of the par score of 120 runs.

Rovman Powell (54) and Nicholas Pooran’s (19) 74-run partnership had kept the Windies in the run chase after they lost the openers Evin Lewis and Sunil Narine inside the first three overs.

But Krunal Pandya struck twice with the wickets of Pooran and Powell to derail the run chase for the home team.

Pandya finished with figures of 2 for 23 while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Washington Sundar got a wicket each for India.

Earlier, India posted 167 for 5 on the board with superb knocks from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Krunal.

Rohit top-scored once again for India with 67 runs off 51 balls and in the process, set a new record for the most sixes in T20 internationals.

Rohit hit 3 sixes during his knock and surpassed Chris Gayle (105) as the batsmen with the most sixes in the format in international cricket with 107.
