India threatens Pakistan to halt waters

Spokesperson to Indian Foreign Minister Vikas Swarp has said that if Islamabad did not end terrorism from its land then Indus Water Treaty agreement could end.

According to Indian media, Spokesperson to Indian Foreign Minister, during a briefing in New Delhi, said that the atmosphere of cooperation and trust is mandatory for any agreement between both countries, but Pakistan’s role during current situation is clear, due to which it would be difficult to maintain Indus Water Treaty agreement.

According to Indian officials, Pakistan and India had signed Indus Water Treaty in 1959, under which India is authorized to use only 20 percent water from rivers flowing towards Pakistan.
