Popular Indian actor Govinda was reportedly hospitalized this morning after sustaining a bullet injury to his leg.
According to the Mumbai Police, the actor is currently out of danger, and his manager confirmed that he is doing well. As reported by NDTV, the injury occurred at Govinda’s Juhu residence around 4:45 AM due to a misfire from his licensed revolver.
In an audio message, the actor expressed gratitude for the blessings of his fans, parents, and guru, which he believes helped him through this incident. He stated, “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers.”
His manager, Shashi Sinha, mentioned that the 60-year-old actor, who is also a Shiv Sena leader, was alone at home preparing to leave for Kolkata when the incident happened. Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, is currently in Kolkata but is on her way back to Mumbai after learning about the incident.
Sinha explained that the actor’s revolver fell from a cupboard, leading to the accidental discharge. The bullet struck him below the knee. Following the incident, Govinda contacted his wife and manager for help.
