WEB DESK: A heavy metal part dropped from an Indian Air Force aircraft caused significant damage to a residential house in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
According to Indian media, the police confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred around 11 a.m. on Friday.
Reports from police and local residents indicate that, the metal object fell onto the roof of a house, completely destroying two rooms and also damaging a nearby parked vehicle due to debris.
The explosion caused the roof of the house to collapse, creating a deep pit of approximately 8 to 10 feet in the courtyard. The impact of the falling part also caused nearby homes to shake, instilling fear in the area.
The Indian Air Force responded to the incident and expressed regret in a statement released on the social media platform X, stating that the damage to the house near Shivpuri was unfortunate. The statement clarified that the incident was caused by an accidental drop of a non-explosive part, and an inquiry has been initiated to investigate the matter.
