LoC Firing: Indian Deputy HC Summoned to Lodge Protest

Islamabad (October 25, 2017): Foreign Office has decided to summon Indian Deputy High Commissioner to lodge strong protest over the unprovoked firing of Indian Army on civilian population in Lipa Valley yesterday.

Two people were  martyred and six others sustained injuries when Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing on Naukot and Qaiser Kot villages in Lipa Valley yesterday.

The Foreign Office has summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner today at 2:00 pm. The Indian diplomat will be handed over demarche over the unprovoked firing on civilian population in violation of 2003 ceasefire agreement.According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian troops resorted to unprovoked artillery, heavy mortars and automatic weapons firing along Line of Control targeting civil population.

Pakistan army effectively engaged Indian troops and destroyed their four posts.

The Shaheeds include Sumaira Younis and Maryam of Nokot while Shakeel, Anwar Baig, Muneer Ahmad, Zeeshan, Rafeek Ahmad and Nasreen have been injured in the firing.Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the unprovoked firing at the Line of Control by the Indian security forces.

He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of innocent citizens in the Indian firing and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
