New Delhi: The Indian Navy has revealed that their Chetak helicopter deployed onboard a Talwar-class frigate crashed in the Gulf of Aden during operational deployment.
According to a local media report, all three crew members remained safe.
In its statement, the Indian Navy said the helicopter suffered “technical failure prior to its ditching” but that its crew displayed “professional prowess and sound training” by landing the helicopter in the water and successfully exiting from it.
A board of inquiry has initiated the investigation to find the cause of the technical failure.
