Info Minister calls on PTI to step away from promoting an anti-Pakistan narrative

ISLAMABAD: Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, on Friday, criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for adopting a political stance that, according to him, sidelines governance in the province.

In a post shared on the platform X, Tarar claimed that PTI’s focus remains fixated on an illegal objective—seeking political advice from its founder, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail on corruption charges—instead of addressing the concerns of the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized that this practice stands in violation of prison regulations.

He went on to say that despite Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s pivotal role in the nation’s fight against terrorism, the provincial leadership has failed to prioritize peace, development, and public welfare. Instead, they have devoted their time to political maneuvers in Islamabad centered on the same unlawful agenda.

Tarar also alleged that a female PTI leader adopted a negative tactic by running a malicious campaign against Khan Sahib using accounts hostile to Pakistan, reportedly operating from Afghanistan and amplified by Indian media outlets.
