RAWALPIDI: Intelligence Agencies foiled a plan to carrying out major act of terrorism on the eve of Easter by killing a terrorist and arresting a female accomplice of him in a search operation in Lahore.
According to Inter-Service Public Relations, security forces conducted a raid in Punjab Housing Society in Lahore on the basis of intelligence information. During the action, forces killed a terrorist and arrested a female accomplice of the terrorist.
Four security forces personnel including two officers were injured in the action. ISPR said that the forces recovered suicide vest and explosives materials from the possession of the terrorists.
Sources said that police, security and intelligence agencies were conducting a joint combing operation in Lahore’s Factory Area that they were fired upon by terrorists holed up in the vicinity.
In the ensuing exchange of fire that lasted for an hour, a terrorist was gunned down and another apprehended, they said. The deceased could not immediately be identified.
