ISLAMABAD: The interim Taliban administration in Afghanistan has denounced the suicide bombing that struck Islamabad yesterday, describing the incident as deeply regrettable and expressing profound sorrow over the loss of lives.
In a formal statement, Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned such acts of terrorism and extended prayers for the swift recovery of the injured. The ministry also criticized another recent attack a blast near the Red Fort in New Delhi that resulted in 10 fatalities.
The suicide bombing outside Islamabad’s G-11 courthouse claimed 12 lives and left approximately 30 others injured.
International reaction to the attack has been swift and resolute. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres offered condolences to the victims’ families, urged a thorough investigation, and emphasized the importance of holding the perpetrators accountable.
The United States embassy in Islamabad reiterated its support for Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts while conveying deep sympathy to the bereaved families. Similarly, the Chinese Embassy condemned the attack, expressed heartfelt condolences, and wished a quick recovery for the injured.

Numerous other nations, including members of the European Union, Russia, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Qatar, and Canada, have issued strong statements condemning the act. These nations expressed solidarity with the victims, affirmed support for Pakistan’s fight against terrorism, and called for justice against those responsible.
BRITAIN ISSUES PAKISTAN TRAVEL ADVISORY
In light of recent events, the British government has issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to avoid areas near the Pakistan-India border, including occupied Jammu and Kashmir and regions along the Line of Control.
The advisory also directed High Commission staff based in Islamabad to restrict their movements as a safety measure. British nationals were advised to adhere to local authorities’ guidance and remain vigilant by staying informed through local news outlets.
