Islamabad: Interior Ministry has approved a fool proof security for the former Chief Justice justice (retd) Gulzar Ahmed.
Former chief justice has written a letter to the interior ministry before his retirement that he has heard a number of high profile cases which included terrorism related cases , extra judicial killings, many other high profile cases.
He also heard cases regarding rights of minorities, ending encroachments and many sensitive cases.
In his letter, he requested that he and his family security be retained as a chief justice. He also demanded rangers security at his house and during his and family travel.
The letter was written by deputy registrat Supreme Court of Pakistan on January 27. After which the interior ministry approved a fool proof security for the former chief justice.
The security of ex-chief justice is not taking back. The security which was provided to him at a time of his elevation as Chief Justice post will be retained.
Sources said that the interior ministry has issued a notification in this regard.
