Interior Ministry Issues Orders To Provide Security To ECP Officials

Islamabad: Interior Ministry taking action on a letter of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued orders to provide security to officials of the ECP.

The Interior Ministry has sent written orders to chief secretaries of all the four provinces, Inspector General (IGs) of all the provinces and home secretaries on home affairs.

It is merit to mention here that the ECP five member bench in chair of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) had declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan disqualified from his National Assembly (NA) seat in the toshakhana case.

Over the ECP verdict protest had been staged all across the country by the charged PTI activists, workers, sympathisers even intense clashes erupted between police and protestors.

The enraged protestors burnt tyres, blocked roads and chanted slogans against the ECP.

The PTI chief Imran Khan has challenged his disqualification by the ECP in Islamabad High Court.

Before the ECP verdict former premier Imran Khan has been visiting the county to mobilize his activist and supporters over his ouster from the government.

He had announced to hold long march in the current month of October against what he called an “imported government”.

Imran Khan has been demanding since his protest to hold fresh elections in the country.

Earlier, In a preparation of blocking expected long march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), more than 1000 personnel of Sindh police from Sanghar have left for capital Islamabad today.

The Police personnel from Sindh have reached Shahdatpur railway station from Sanghar.

Federal government will bear all the expenditures of the police contingent while every police personnel has been given Rs 800 for expenses on line.
