Web Desk: International Albinism Awareness Day is being observed today.
This year the theme of day is ” A decade of collective progress”.
It is estimated that only one in 17,000 people globally is born with albinism.
Albinism is a rare and non-contagious genetic condition inherited at birth where the lack of the pigment melanin, leaves one’s skin, hair and eyes devoid of colour.
Some people with albinism have visual impairment too.
