Int’l Community Should Take Steps To Stop Indian Atrocities in Occupied Kashmir: FM

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says peace in South Asia will remain elusive unless the issue of Jammu and Kashmir is resolved as per UN Resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiris.

He was talking to UK House of Lords’ member, Lord Qurban Hussain, who called on him in Islamabad today (Friday).

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International, Raja Najabat Hussain, was also accompanying Lord Qurban Hussain.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on diplomatic efforts to highlight grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir at various international forums, including the UK parliament.

The Foreign Minister said India must rescind its unilateral acts of 5 August 2019 in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, for peace in the region.

Referring to recent letters written to UN Secretary General and the President of UN Security Council, he said Pakistan will continue its political, moral, and diplomatic support to Kashmiris.

Talking about Pakistan’s desire for peace, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said we want peaceful relations with all regional countries, including India.

The Foreign Minister thanked Lord Qurban Hussain for highlighting the Kashmir issue in the British Parliament and raising voice against Indian aggression against innocent Kashmiris.
