SRINAGAR: The Indian government has frozen more than 70 bank accounts that have been found linked to Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in Indian occupied Kashmir.
The crackdown on Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) continues in Jammu & Kashmir as three more arrests were made from Kishtwar after the separatist organisation’s top leadership were arrested from Srinagar earlier this week.
More than 70 bank accounts linked to the organisation were sealed and many others are under the government’s scanner only in Srinagar.
As per Indian media, more than 300 schools, colleges and trusts of JeI have been shut down. Moreover, some of the properties of JeI members have also been sealed by the Indian government as their crackdown continues in the valley.
350 members of Jamaat-e-Islami have been arrested from the valley as of yet after the puppet Indian management gave a free hand to all district magistrates to arrest any JeI member.
Imposition Of Ban On JeI In IOK Condemned
In occupied Kashmir, the Private Schools Association has condemned the decision to seal private schools run by Jamaat-e-Islami under Fallah-e-Aam Trust (FAT) as it will affect around one lakh students and push the territory into an educational crisis.
The Chairman of Association, G N Var in a statement issued in Srinagar said FAT is purely concerned with education and it has nothing to do with the politics. “These are recognised private schools teaching syllabus prescribed by the Board of School Education and are like any other private school following all the rules,” he added.
