Iran Govt media appeals for pray for life of Iran President Ibrahim Raisi after helicopter crash

Tehran: Iran government media has appealed for prayers for life Irani President Ibrahim Raisi and other officials who were on board when his helicopter crash in the country’s broder region today.

On the other hand, people in large numbers gathered at mausoleum of Imam Ali Raza (RA) to pray for Ibrahim Raisi life.

State TV stopped all its regular programming to show prayers being held for Raisi across the country.

Earlier, helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister crashed on Sunday as it was crossing mountain terrain in heavy fog on the way back from a visit to the border with Azerbaijan, an Iranian official told Reuters.

The official said the lives of Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian were “at risk following the helicopter crash”.

“We are still hopeful but information coming from the crash site is very concerning,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

IRNA reported that said that the rescue and relief teams had been dispatched to the crash site and they will reach the probable coordinates of President Raisi’s helicopter crash within half an hour.
