TEHRAN: Iran has warmly acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s commitment not to utilize Iranian territory in any hostile actions.
Ali Reza Enayati, Iran’s ambassador to Riyadh, conveyed to AFP that Iran appreciates Saudi Arabia’s assurance that its airspace, maritime routes, and land borders will not be exploited against Iran.
The Iranian diplomat emphasized that Saudi officials have consistently reaffirmed that they will not allow their borders—air, sea, or land—to be employed in any manner that threatens Iran, and Iran values this pledge.
Reports indicate that even prior to recent tensions, Saudi Arabia had supported diplomatic initiatives aimed at easing tensions between Tehran and Washington, explicitly stating that its airspace would not be used for any military operation targeting Iran.
