TEHRAN: Iran has expressed its desire to be included in the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During a visit to Pakistan, Iranian Parliament Speaker Muhammad Baqir said in a conversation on Geo News’ program Capital Talk that Iran should also be part of this agreement.
The Iranian Parliament Speaker further stated that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should establish a joint military force of Islamic countries modeled after NATO.
He emphasized that Pakistan, along with other Islamic nations, should send its military to Gaza solely for the protection and support of Palestinians, and no steps should be taken that would strengthen Israeli dominance.
Previously, during a meeting with the President of FPCCI, Atif Ekram Sheikh, and a delegation, Iranian Parliament Speaker Muhammad Baqir said that Pakistan’s support for Iran during Israeli aggression is deeply appreciated by Iran.
He added that Iran considers Pakistan a valuable asset for the Muslim Ummah and that both countries are facing common challenges, which they can tackle together.
He also highlighted that there are extensive opportunities to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in sectors such as healthcare, energy, and banking.
