TEHRAN: Iranian officials announced Monday that the recent 12-day hostilities with Israel resulted in at least 935 fatalities within Iran, as reported by state media, nearly a week after a ceasefire was established.
According to IRNA news agency, judiciary spokesperson Asghar Jahangir confirmed, “Up to now, 935 martyrs have been identified in the conflict initiated by the Zionist regime against Iran.” The casualties included 132 women and 38 children, Jahangir added.
The escalation began on June 13 when Israel launched extensive airstrikes targeting military installations, nuclear facilities, and residential areas across Iran, killing key military leaders and nuclear scientists. In retaliation, Iran deployed missile and drone attacks that struck Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv and Haifa, resulting in 28 deaths, as per Israeli sources.
A ceasefire came into effect on June 24, bringing the 12-day conflict to a halt.
