Iran’s Supreme Leader dismisses international mediation to ease US tensions

TEHRAN: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has reportedly rejected peace proposals from two foreign nations seeking to lower tensions with the United States, according to a senior official in Tehran.

The proposals were discussed during a top-level foreign policy meeting, but sources said Khamenei dismissed them, declaring that “this is not a moment for peace” and stressing the need to confront both the US and Israel. He also demanded that Washington compensate Iran for damages sustained during recent confrontations.

In a related development, Israel Katz claimed that Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani was killed in Israeli strikes overnight. Katz said Larijani was specifically targeted in the operations.

These events indicate a sharp escalation in regional tensions, as diplomatic mediation efforts appear to have stalled.
