TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has launched coordinated strikes against 14 American military sites across the region in response to recent U.S. and Israeli actions, claiming the attacks caused heavy American casualties.
In statements carried by Iranian state media, an IRGC spokesperson described the operation as large-scale and ongoing, warning that further strikes would follow and that the campaign would escalate if necessary.
The retaliation has been branded by Tehran as “Operation True Promise 4,” presented as a direct response to what it calls aggression by the United States and Israel.
U.S. officials, however, rejected the claims. A representative for United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said reports of around 200 American personnel killed or wounded are inaccurate. The command also denied assertions that an American naval vessel had sustained damage.
Earlier announcements from the IRGC said American military facilities in Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates were among the targets. Iranian media further claimed that U.S. Navy assets, including the Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain, were within the scope of the operation, along with sites in central Israel.
Iranian commanders have signaled that missile and drone operations will continue as part of the campaign, while U.S. officials maintain that the situation is under control and dispute Tehran’s version of events.
