Islamabad (August 25, 2017): The meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) was held here in Islamabad, which discussed an 11-point agenda with results of census being on the top of the list.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, which was also attended by relevant federal ministers, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, CM KP Pervez Khattak and CM Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri.
The CCI approved the provisional results of the population and housing census.

The top constitutional body decided that the final results of the census would also be presented in the CCI and would be approved.
Sources said that there was lack of consensus among the federating units over some items of the agenda.
The issue of waters distribution among provinces was also postponed for next meeting.
The CCI also approved National Water Policy and National Forests Policy.
Before the meeting of CCI, the chief ministers of provinces called on Prime Minister separately and discussed with him different issues of their respective provinces.
This was first meeting of the body presided over by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi after his election as chief executive of the country.
The sources said that a summary of the district-wise results of the census was presented in the CCI, which gave approval of it. The results would be made public.
