WEB DESK: Israel’s Ministry of Justice has published a list of Palestinian prisoners set to be released in exchange for Israeli hostages.
The announcement followed the government’s approval of the initial phase of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. Israeli authorities stated that the release of hostages is planned for Monday, while US President Donald Trump suggested it might occur on either Monday or Tuesday due to challenges related to recovering some captives.
Hamas, however, stated that it has not finalized its approval of the listed names.
Additionally, Gaza authorities have requested the establishment of an independent international committee to promptly investigate war crimes and acts of genocide committed during Israel’s two-year conflict.
United Nations agencies have called on Israel to immediately open all crossings into Gaza to allow in desperately needed humanitarian aid.
