Israel says its forces have killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza. There has been no comment from Hamas on Sinwar, who succeeded Ismail Haniyeh after his assassination by Israel in July.

Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu says “this is not the end of the war in Gaza” despite killing of Sinwar.
On the other hand, Lebanese group Hezbollah says it is entering a “new phase” in its fight against invading Israeli troops, adding that it has introduced new weapons over the past days.

Five Israeli soldiers have been killed in fighting in southern Lebanon and nine “seriously injured” in combat in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

Head of human rights organisation slams Israel for ‘war crimes’
Israel has not only violated the sovereignty of Lebanon but also that of Iraq and Syria, killing many innocent people, Muhammad Shahid Amin Khan, world chairman of the International Human Rights Commission, said.

“Netanyahu is a war criminal… the US is facilitating [those attacks],” Khan added.

He urged the International Criminal Court to “act according to its charter”.

Ambulances were seen arriving at the scene as well as a horse cart, carrying a wounded person.

The school was full of displaced Palestinians, our correspondent said, reporting from the extremely crowded hospital as more casualties arrived.
