TEL AVIV: Israel has claimed that Ismail Khateeb, Iran’s Intelligence Minister, was killed in a recent airstrike, Israeli media reported.
The attack targeted Tehran, and officials are currently assessing the outcome of the operation. Iran has not yet issued an official response to the claim.
The development comes days after the United States announced a $10 million reward for information on key Iranian figures, including the new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, National Security Council chief Ali Larijani, and Intelligence Minister Ismail Khateeb.
Other officials listed included Deputy Chief of Staff Ali Asghar Hejazi, Defense Council Secretary, Supreme Leader’s advisor Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, and senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Notably, Israel had also claimed an earlier strike targeting Iran’s National Security Advisor Ali Larijani, intensifying tensions between the two countries.
