U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has shared an optimistic outlook regarding potential agreements for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza, stating that “we’re very close” to finalizing a deal. Meanwhile, the Israeli military has reported the recovery of the body of captive Yousef al-Ziyadna from an underground tunnel in Rafah, Gaza.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with reports indicating that Israeli military actions have led to the deaths of at least 45,936 Palestinians and injuries to over 109,274 individuals since the escalation began on October 7, 2023. This day marked a deadly attack by Hamas that resulted in the loss of at least 1,139 lives in Israel and the capture of more than 200 individuals.
