WEB DESK: Israel has reportedly informed the United States of its plans for a possible military operation against Iran, American media sources.
The announcement comes amid escalating regional tensions and concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The United States has heightened its alert level in the Middle East, with the State Department advising non-emergency government personnel to evacuate Iraq due to the risk of retaliation from Iran.
The Pentagon has also authorized voluntary departures of military family members from various locations across the region.
President Donald Trump addressed the situation at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday, warning that the region remains dangerous and emphasizing that the U.S. opposes Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. “We’re not going to allow Iran to develop a nuclear weapon,” Trump stated, underlining the administration’s firm stance.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue, with President Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff preparing for a sixth round of nuclear talks with Iran in the coming days. Despite ongoing negotiations, Iranian officials have issued stern warnings.
Iran’s Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh stated that if nuclear talks fail and conflict ensues, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will target all U.S. bases in the region’s host countries.
