WEB DESK: Israeli authorities have once again imposed restrictions on Palestinian worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Eid holidays.
In Jerusalem, security forces reportedly blocked many Palestinians from entering the mosque compound to perform Eid prayers. Witnesses said that tear gas and batons were used to disperse crowds attempting to access the site, resulting in several people being affected by the force.
Authorities also shut down access to the mosque area, leaving large numbers of worshippers unable to pray inside. As a result, many Palestinians gathered and offered their Eid prayers in nearby streets and open spaces.
Analysts caution that continued restrictions at such a sensitive religious location could heighten tensions and potentially lead to further unrest.
At the same time, reports from Lebanon indicate that Israeli military actions persisted during Eid, with claims that journalists were among those targeted, adding to concerns about the broader escalation in the region.
