Israeli airstrikes shake areas near Pakistan Embassy in Tehran, staff reported safe

TEHRAN: Israeli air raids struck areas close to the Pakistan Embassy and the residence of Pakistan’s ambassador in Iran’s capital late Thursday night.

The strikes took place as Tehran entered its 27th consecutive day of aerial bombardment. Loud explosions were heard near the diplomatic enclave, including close to the residence of Pakistan’s envoy, Mudassir Tipu.

Sources said intense bombing occurred around 8:00 PM in the vicinity of both locations. However, the Pakistan Embassy building and the ambassador’s residence remained unharmed. All Pakistani diplomatic personnel were reported safe following the incident.

So far, no official statement has been released by Pakistan’s Foreign Office regarding the development.

The incident comes at a sensitive time, as Pakistan along with Türkiye and Egypt is actively involved in diplomatic efforts to mediate and de-escalate tensions between the United States and Iran.

Despite the escalation, Ambassador Tipu continues his diplomatic responsibilities in Tehran, supported by a team of approximately 20 staff members.
