WEB DESK: A ballistic missile fired by Yemeni Houthis struck Israel’s main Ben Gurion International Airport.
According to Arab media, the missile hit a road and a vehicle within the airport premises, temporarily halting air traffic. The attack resulted in 8 people being injured.
The Israeli military confirmed that despite multiple attempts to intercept the missile, Israel’s defense system was unsuccessful in destroying it.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, following the attack, warned airlines that Ben Gurion Airport is no longer safe for air travel.
He further stated that the ballistic missile successfully hit its target, and both the US and Israeli air defense systems failed to intercept it.
He also mentioned that as a result of the missile attack, over 3 million Israelis were forced to take shelter in missile defense bunkers, and Ben Gurion Airport remained closed for more than an hour.
