Jaffer Express Attack, Continuation of India’s Terrorist Mindset in Pakistan: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: DG ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated that the attack on Jaffer Express in Baluchistan is a continuation of India’s terrorist mindset in Pakistan. He added that the terrorists responsible for the attack were in contact with their handlers in Afghanistan.

DG ISPR provided details about the attack on Jaffer Express and the operation carried out to rescue the passengers.

He mentioned that the Pakistan Army engaged the terrorists after thorough planning. From the terrorists’ communications, it was revealed that there were also suicide bombers among them. A special operation was carried out to secure the release of the hostages, and due to the presence of suicide bombers, the operation was conducted with extreme caution. The forces began their operation, and the Zarar Company commandos entered the train from the engine.

He added that during the final clearance operation, the terrorists were unable to harm anyone. The terrorists kept killing civilians to spread fear. Those terrorists who were on the side of the train were killed, and a terrorist firing from the mountain was also targeted and killed. Throughout the operation, no passengers were harmed, and the terrorists were armed with foreign weaponry.

DG ISPR further stated that, during the forces’ operation, a total of 33 terrorists were killed, while the terrorists’ firing led to the martyrdom of 26 people. The forces successfully rescued 354 hostages, 37 of whom were injured. Not a single hostage was killed during the operation.
