Karachi: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi has announced to stage sit-in outside the governor house on October 8, Sunday.
Addressing a presser at the JI Karachi’s headquarter Idara Nore Haq, the JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that the party’s Pakistan chief Siraj Ul Haq will lead the sit-in.
Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that they will stage powerful protest against hike in electricity rates and taxes.
He said that they are staging the protest against a rampant inflation, exorbitant electricity bills and uptick in taxes.
The JI Karachi chief said that on the pressure of the international powers no increase in the taxes will be accepted.
He said that instead of masses tax be collected from feudal lords and land lords.
Naeem suggested that if the white collars people (elite) will be brought to court and make accountability of them then the lives of Karachiites will turn to ease.
Hafiz Naeem demanded that the monopoly of the k-electric be ended immediately.
