JI demands ECP to declare fraud mayor election null and void

Karachi: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi president Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman on Thursday wrote a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) hurling accusations on the Sindh government that it kidnapped 29 members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The JI ameer in his letter to the ECP adopted the stand that the provincial government made hostage 29 members of PTI and they all were stopped for casting their votes.

Owing to this reason, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman demanded to declare the today’s mayor and deputy mayor election null and void.

It is further said that in the letter that the ECP prime job is to hold fair and transparent elections but it remained like before silent spectator.

The letter insisted the ECP declaring the election null and void the fraud elections and issue a new schedule of the mayor and deputy mayor elections.

The spokesman of JI said that at every occasion the ECP has been informed about unconstitutional and undemocratic process of the Sindh government.

The ECP should have completed attendance of all the members of city council then polling had to be started, spokesperson said.

He said that the mandate of masses was murdered mercilessly, majority was changed in to minority adding that it is deceiving to real mandate and forceful occupation which will result into a situation which will not be good for city and the country.
