JI Karachi Chief inaugurates first SDG park in Gulberg Town

Karachi: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Munam Zafar Khan on Wednesday inaugurated Madinah park, the city’s first Sustainbale Development Goal (SDG) Park in Gulberg town which is a positive step towards environmental improvement.

Addressing at the occasion, the JI Karachi Chief Munam Zafar Khan said that this century is of environmental changes adding Pakistan and sepcially South Asia was undergoing severe effects of it.

The JI Chief urged that we have to decrease use of plastic and avoid wasting water and saving the precious commodity.

Munam Zafar Khan, quoting a Saying of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, ” Don’t waste water of ablution even if you are on bank of a river.”

Munam Zafar Khan said that a planning is being carried out to introduce a system of harvesting of ablution water in more than 3000 mosques across the city so that ablution water and rain water to be stored for plantation and use it for other environmental friendly purposes as well.

He also planted a tree at the park while the town Chairman Nusrat Ullah was also accompanied him.

later, Town Chairman Nusrat Ullah in his address said that the city has become a forest of concrete and we will have return towards the nature.

The project like rain water and ablution water harvesting system is a welcoming step towards the protection of the environment, Nusrat Ullah said.
