JI Karachi Chief Munam Zafar Kicks start plantation drive in Karachi

Karachi: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Munam Zafar on Wednesday initiated a plantation drive titled “Ayo Karachi ko Sarsabz Banaye ,Come to make Karachi greener” from Mahmood Ghaznavi Park in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 16.

Addressing the presser on the occasion, the JI Karachi Chief said that Karachi is placed on 177 number in least liveable cities.

The drive has been started in wake of climate change and intensity of heat in the city.

Munam Zafar said that Karachi has changed into a forest of concrete adding a plantation drive is a need of the hour.

The JI Karachi Chief apprised that his party has restored 155 parks in nine towns of Karachi in a hiatus of just two years.

Describing the plantation drive, he said that we have a target of planting half million samplings.

He said that urban forest, road side jungle and water harvesting projects are underway in the JI ruling towns of Karachi.

Criticising the Sindh government, Munam Zafar said that all the institutions are busy in corruption.

He said that the Sindh government failed providing clean environment to the citizens.

The JI Town Chairman’s, opposition leader in KMC Saif Udin advocate were also present at the occasion.
