Islamabad (June 27, 2017): The joint investigation team probing Sharif family’s offshore holdings has summoned Prime Minister’s children,  Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz to appear before it next week.

The JIT has summoned the Prime Minister’s children to finalize its report which it will submit in the Supreme Court on July 10, 2017.

The JIT summoned Hassan Nawaz on July 3, Hussain Nawaz on July 4 and daughter Maryam Nawaz on July 5, 2017. Maryam will be appearing before the JIT for the first time.

Hussain Nawaz has already appeared before the JIT five times and this will be the sixth time he will appear before the JIT. Hassan Nawaz has appeared two times and July 3 appearance will be third.’

It is to be mentioned here that the JIT has also summoned PM’s cousin Tariq Shafi on July 2.

Meanwhile,  the meeting of Panama JIT started at Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) in Islamabad.

The meeting is being presided over by Wajid Zia, head of the team and additional director general of Federal Investigation Agency.

All the six members of the JIT are participating in the meeting.

Sources said that the JIT is reviewing the statements recorded by different people before it. On June 23, former Interior Minister Rehman Malik appeared before the JIT and recorded his statement while the next day prime minister’s son-in-law Captain (Retd) Safdar appeared before the team.

It is to be mentioned here that the JIT has summoned Prime Minister’s cousin Tariq Shafi on July 2, 2017 for the second time. After first appearance before the committee last month, Shafi had accused the JIT members of exerting pressure on him and threatening him.
