WEB DESK: England’s batter Joe Root has achieved a significant milestone in Test cricket by setting a new record for his country.
On Thursday, during the first day of the Test match against Zimbabwe, Joe Root scored his 28th individual run, crossing the 13,000-run mark in Test cricket.
Thus, he became the first English player and the fifth in the world to reach 13,000 runs in Test cricket.
Joe Root also became the fastest batsman to reach 13,000 runs in Test cricket, accomplishing this feat in his 153rd Test match.
Previously, the record for the fastest 13,000 runs was held by South African former cricketer Jacques Kallis, who achieved this milestone in 159 Test matches.
